We've been talking about the skeletal system recently, so just for fun I had the boys make life-saver and licorice spine models. Hard life-savers for the vertebral column , gummi life-savers for the cartilage in-between, all strung on twizzlers cherry. Science is tasty!

What a clever idea. Those spines wouldn't last long around here. We'd be slippin' those disks in our mouths as soon as you turned your back. Ha! B.
Oh, believe me, there were some tummy aches from cartilage over-indulgence this afternoon. And I'm not just talkin' about the kids. I can't resist a good candy spine!
