A couple days ago, the boys came in from outside to tell me about these baby raccoons in our yard. They are pretty young but seemingly all alone.
Anyone know when raccoons send their young off to fend for themselves? I'm wondering if their mother wasn't killed somehow and now they are trying to figure things out for themselves?
We have seen them eating apples below this tree, and also climbing slowly and unsurely up into its branches.
They really look cuddly, but when I approached to take these pictures they growled at me. They are still wild animals no matter how cute...
