It has been pretty wet in these parts lately, and we were beginning to feel like lumps sitting indoors in front of our respective computers. Thankfully, we've finally had a couple days break from the downpours and storms, and we decided today would be the perfect day to visit the beach.
Unfortunately, the beach had other plans.
Curse you rain and flooding!
But not all was lost. We still enjoyed a picnic lunch in the sunshine and breezes and went on a short hike as well.
Staring earlier this spring, Charlie and I decided we would try to create a little natural art/sculpture along each trail we hike. Just for others to maybe notice, add to and enjoy. This is his quick offering for today; criss-cross sticks with pinecone accouterments.
We hiked Echo Canyon Trail in the Valley of the Bones today. We don't hike this trail as often as others, but it is truly a beautiful gem!
Hopefully the rainy trend will call a truce with summer fun soon, so we can finally hit that beach!!
