Charlie is nuts about going to story time at the library. The weekend "storytelling Guru" is Tiffany, and she is so wonderful at knowing how to gently engage the kids. They just love her.
This week's theme was rhythm and music with the main book being The Philharmonic Gets Dressed.
After the stories were over, the kids got a chance to make some musical instruments of their own. Ben was behind the scenes helping to set up for the crafting main event.
Charlie thought making the instruments was cool. He took home a decorated coffee-can drum...
Jingle-bell paper plate tambourine, with color co-ordinated ribbons...
Rhythm Sticks (which became light sabers within the half-hour)
...and rice filled egg shaker (which became part of a "sink or float" experiment as soon as we got home.)
